Hello All,

Feeling for the third time a trifle on the prattish side for scaring everybody, including myself. I did not think I was going to get away with this again. I have been to quite a few funerals of people much stronger than I who didn't get a second or third chance. I hope that I can now get on with other things and blog about other things, but details have been demanded.

I had no confidence when we went to the MCA that I would come out smiling again. Metastasis is an awful word. Fortunately it seems to have gone no further than my groin (again) and there is still a bit around the prostate and in one of my lungs. The young lady doctor said there was no sign of it in bones or liver, usually a signal for getting one's affairs in order. She said that the cancer that I have is very slow growing and there is no immediate cause for concern or treatment. There will be no chemo, radiotherapy or sharp shiny implements put to use until at least after Christmas and a discussion with The Team (you mean you don't have a team?) But there is no hurry. Shrivelfest 2012 is cancelled. They may decide to do a puncture in my lung to find out if that is bowel or kidney cancer. This is because chemo is quite specific and you must get the right stuff for the kind of cancer you have. Something like the oil in your car. 10w40 would not do where 5w50 is a minimum requirement. Or they may decide to cut it all out. I don't care. It hurts a little bit but a minor irritation. It's not going to kill me. I am over the moon and have spent a pleasant evening with Merel at the Wok Palace, where for 25 euros you can drink and eat as much as you can throw up. And then home and there to dilute a very small amount of Cola with a very large portion of the rum I got from Rosalba for my birthday. 

Big Emma once said that this family is spread all over the planet but is closer than some that all live in the same street. Thank you for your love.

And now I will hear and speak no more about cancer.
